Produced for the Science and Artists’ Book invitational exhibition for the Smithsonian Institution and the Library of Congress, curated by Carol Barton. Invitees selected an historical book from the Library of Congress's Heralds of Science collection, and made a contemporary artist book to accompany it. Viewpoints was inspired by, and paired with Micrographia, by Robert Hooke, published in 1655. Hooke accompanies his writing with his observations using lenses: early microscopes and telescopes. Viewpoints incorporates Hooke’s text and microscope images, with added micro/macro views of satellite photography of the earth and electron microscope images of the human body. The exhibition was held at the Smithsonian Institution Museum of American History in Washington D.C.
