Daisy Field had two lives. The pieced top is based on a 9-patch block, which are usually assembled in symmetrical patterns. I opted for asymmetry, and quilted it with diamonds in squares. After it was completely finished, it seemed more like a background. A year later I added the daisy appliques. They are trapunto-padded and quilted to add visual and tactile texture as they are strewn across the field.
