Installation connecting earth and sky, loosely documenting an international year abroad. The piece is a reflection on place, libraries and architecture. Sky photographs were taken daily for a year, morning, noon and night. I wore a pedometer to record, as with the sky, the accumulation of thousands (or millions in the case of footsteps) of moments that may be inconsequential individually, but together comprise something beyond cognitive understanding. The pedometer count was marked for each photograph as well as the city where it was recorded. All acted as time markers, proof of existence, and plotted a particular geographical presence along an 8,760-hour continuum, connecting earth to sky, and the lived space in between.
